Almost every villa in Jamaica comes with a cook. Almost none come with the food. You arrive to a shopping list, then a food bill at cost, then Jamaican sales tax — 15%, which on a week of meals and drinks for twelve really adds up — then a service charge, then a club fee. At Bluefields Bay one rate covers the villa, every meal, the open bar, the staff who look after you, and all government taxes.

Staffed Around the Clock

Nearly a hundred people work at Bluefields Bay, and every villa and the suites are staffed twenty-four hours a day. Each villa has its own team — butler, private chef, housekeeper, seaside staff, and a night caretaker — looking after that villa and no other; the suites share a team of their own. They are not a desk you ring. It means you are never alone in a place you don’t know.

Every Meal, and the Bar

Three made-to-order meals a day, cooked in your villa by your own chef. Before you arrive you complete a preference sheet, so the kitchen already knows what your family eats, what it avoids, and how the children like their eggs. Appetizers and snacks in between. The bar is open and stocked, and nobody keeps a tally. Suite guests choose from a menu that changes daily.

The Water, and the Rest of the Property

The resort sits on a private stretch of shoreline on Jamaica’s south coast, about seventy minutes from Sangster International. Non-motorized watersports are included and there is no sign-up sheet — the water is simply there. So are the tennis and pickleball courts, and guided hikes into the hills behind the property. The bay is calm, shallow close in, and quiet enough that most days you will have your part of it to yourselves.

What Is Not Included

Not everything sits in the rate, so here is the honest list. Spa treatments are done in your own villa or suite — you never spend part of your vacation waiting on someone else — and go on your account. Reef snorkel trips and sunset cruises run on our own boat and are settled at the end of your stay. Airport transfers are arranged for you and billed separately; Club MoBay VIP service inside the terminal is included, the drive is not. Off-property excursions are arranged through us. Everything else on this page is in the rate, and one 15% is added at booking — that is the whole of it.

Child and Adult Care (villas only)

A professional nanny comes to your own villa and works with your children there, rather than a club you drop them at across the resort. Up to nine hours a day, and included rather than added, so the grown-ups get a vacation too. Older relatives are looked after on the same terms.
